Our Founder
After serving as a peer educator and advocating for comprehensive sex education in her community with the Duluth Teen Council for two years, Ava wanted to continue educating and helping people beyond high school. During high school, Ava participated in competitive gymnastics, tennis, and was a captain on her Track and Field team. She served as President for her schools National Honor Society chapter, coached gymnastics, and achieved over 200 hours of community service during her 4 years of high school.
Combining her experience as an educator with her passion for womens health, Ava created the Red Petal Initiative to help connect with girls who struggle to access resources and information about the menstrual cycle. Ava believes everyone has the right to understand how their bodies work and will continue to advocate for comprehensive sex education and period poverty in pageantry and throughout her time at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
